andzach:
I love the scar on your face. I love those hip bones you hate. I love your perfectly unkempt hair and how it gets in the way…a lot. You say you don’t try, and you don’t, yet you still stand out among even the prettiest girls. I love how you get antsy when I stare at you with happy eyes, and how you stare with them right back. I love how all the pieces that make you up, make one extraordinary lady, who I can’t stand to not be around.
I am f*cking lucky.

the idea that so many things can fall completely apart whilst so many other things can combine to make something so beautiful all at once is absolutely baffling to me.

“All reactions to external stimuli can be traced back to an evolutionary rationale. You pull your hand away from fire to avoid physical harm. You get butterflies before an important speech because the adrenaline running through your veins has caused a physiological fight-or-flight response. But there is no evolutionary context within which people’s response to music makes sense- the tapping of a foot, the urge to sing along or get up and dance, there’s just no survival benefit to these activities. For this reason, some believe that our response to music is proof that there’s more to us than just biological and physiological mechanics— that the only way to be moved by the spirit, so to speak, is to have one in the first place.”

currently working a dress rehearsal for tallahassee winds. set up 90 something chairs and a similar amount of stands. waiting to tear them down in a few hours -___- I’m up in the booth, alone, because kevin just ran to get atomic coffee. they just played a piece from the phantom of the opera, and now they’re playing a medley of almost every song from the sound of music and I am singing obnoxiously on account of being alone up here. I am also enjoying a new book and I think zach and I are going to get coffee when I get off at ten.
none of you care. lol.

yesterday was beautiful, sunny with a slight breeze. we felt adventurous, walked around downtown and ended up at the paperback rack on monroe, featuring live music and little girls dancing and grandmothers tapping their toes and clapping their hands to the beat, the sun shining straight through the windows, kissing you between bookshelves. walked back to campus and sat against that tree and everything was calm. you bought me starbucks and we did laundry and had dinner and fell in and out of sleep for the remainder of the night and I think that I am really starting to let myself like you.
it is January 30th and I can only hope that February compares.
